AE&E utility-size circulating fl uidised bed boilers (CFB) focus on the generation of highly efficient power and heat on an environmentally friendly basis in the upper unit size range. AE&E is proud to possess a long proven track record for the combustion of a wide range of fossil fuels.

Almost all solid fuels can be fired economically including:

• High ash coals (lignite and bituminous)
• High moisture lignite
• High sulphur coals (e.g. pet coke)
• Low volatile coals (e.g. anthracite)

In addition to the economical use of difficult coals, a reduction of the plants carbon footprint due to co-incineration of biomass is also possible.
