2008, Further strengthening of the Service Business and Turnkey Plant Business
AE&E acquires the British installation, erection and service company Mechanical Installations International Limited (MII). This acquisition strengthens AE&E's position on the British growth market and also bolsters AE&E’s expertise as a service provider.
With the integration of A-TEC Power Plant Systems AG (A-TEC PPS) AE&E further strengthens the important turnkey plant area within the Group. A-TEC PPS is a specialist for combined cycle power plants.
2007, Further expansion through major acquisitions in China and Germany
The AE&E Group continues to grow with the addition of the Chinese boiler manufacturing company, AE&E Nanjing Boiler, and the German company, AE&E Lentjes, based in Ratingen.
AE&E Austria enjoys success with its RDF-fired plants and further consolidates its market position in Eastern Europe.
In China, numerous flue gas desulphurisation plants using AE&E technology are handed over to the customers. Access to the large-scale, coal-fired power station market is regained with a major order for Lünen, Germany.
2006, Takeover in Germany and the Czech Republic
Takeover of the industrial boiler and plant segment from Alstom in Germany and the Czech Republic.
2005, Continuing the expansion of our Asian-Pacific activities
Austrian Energy & Environment acquires two companies in India and one in Australia, strengthening its presence in the Asian-Pacific region.
2004, Expanding the business in Spain
The Spanish Babock Borsig Espana is taken over and renamed as Babcock Power Espana. The business of the AE&E group is thus expanded into Spain and South America.
2003, Acquisition of Von Roll Inova
Austrian Energy & Environment acquires the Swiss industry and technology leader in thermal waste treatment.
2002, Relaunch after take-over by A-TEC
A-TEC Industries AG takes over the Austrian Energy & Environment Group, consisting of Austrian Energy & Environment and the Croatian boiler manufacturer Duro Dakovic TEP. The owners of A-TEC are Mirko Kovats and Christian Schmidt.
1853, Foundation of predecessor companies
Waagner-Biro and Simmering-Graz-Pauker are founded in Austria. They merge in 1992 and are then renamed as Austrian Energy & Environment.
